PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Integrated Engineering is a multi-disciplinary, project-based engineering degree program that develops engineering skills for various disciplines, combining aspects from traditional engineering studies and liberal arts.
This vitally important program is designed to meet the rising demand of modern industry for products and manufacturing that are progressing towards greater diversity and sophistication.
The goal is to ensure a depth and breadth of learning that goes beyond the technical aspects of specialist engineering disciplines. Now more than ever, industry is looking for graduates with a broader educational background that includes a knowledge of engineering principles, hands- on project experience, keen problem-solving ability, and strong interpersonal skills.
This program is offered at Saint Paul College, Normandale and Mesabi College. Students earn a bachelor’s degree while gaining hands-on, real-world engineering skills preparing them for a smoother transition into industry after graduation.

Careers associated with this program.
Develops various processes and implements those into production through thorough validation by working closely with the research/development and quality teams. Supports development activities at suppliers, including issue tracking, process development, fixture design, and validation.
Provides input to set engineering direction on new projects and establishes technical approach, selects materials, conducts design reviews, and creates and executes test plans. With existing products, will work in a value and manufacturing engineering capacity, reviewing prints, materials selection, and manufacturing methods to assure accuracy, cost control and manufacturability.
Check materials, procedures and mechanical or electrical systems to ensure that customers get high-quality, functional products. Run tests on various components and features in order to identify and fix technical issues.
Designs, develops, and supervises all electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.
Works with industrial businesses to improve manufacturing and production processes using lean manufacturing and other improvement concepts.
Designs products and coordinates the manufacturing process for the products.
Designs, develops, and tests new products, such as machinery, robotics, tools, and sensors. Primary duties include creating new products and designs, revising existing products, and providing installation support by writing technical operation documentation.
Learn by doing in class to develop the in-demand tech skills the outside world needs. Close attention from instructors will help you better absorb knowledge and get invaluable direction and training you can apply in the real world.
Get hands-on experience working directly with businesses. You’ll hone your professional social skills, practice the critical thinking the working world needs, and gain the resourcefulness and resilience to overcome working world challenges.
